Megan Ferguson

First of all, Mrs. Ferguson is thrilled to be back up in Spirit Lake teaching Timberlake’s  greatest!  Throughout her seven- year teaching career as an 8th grade Language Arts teacher, she has enjoyed molding the minds of the junior high youth, but is absolutely ecstatic to teach sophomores and juniors now!

Born in Spokane, and growing up in the Coeur d’Alene area, Mrs. Ferguson is a local resident that swears she will never leave the Northwest.  She graduated from Lake City High School in 2001 as salutatorian of her class and began classes at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon the following fall.  After a semester there, she transferred to the University of Idaho, where she graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English in December of 2004.  After college, during her quest to find the perfect job and school district, she worked as a substitute teacher and teller at a local credit union.  During this time, her love for traveling could not keep her grounded, and she spent two years traveling to 13 countries, experiencing the food, drink and people of different cultures.  And with the greatest luck, she was offered a job at Timberlake Junior High school in 2007 and began her teaching career in the Lakeland School District.

When she’s not teaching her students or working on her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction back at the U of I, Mrs. Ferguson finds the most joy in spending time with her two amazing children, Jacob and Kailyn.  They keep her on her toes and have showed her what this life is truly all about: family. She hopes her and her family can continue to live and work/go to school in the Lakeland area, as it truly is the best place on earth to be!
